Batiklectic
Jacqueline Janer Tran
Batiklectic is where the art of batik evolves, crafting unique, hand-painted apparel right here in Spring, Texas. As a middle-aged, empty-nester mom, I'm passionate about sharing the beauty of Southeast Asian Batik Art with the world. There's no age limit to pursuing what you love, and I'm dedicated to teaching this creative art form to others. Batik isn't just for wearing – it's versatile, serving as both a painting, house decoration, and more. Let's champion handmade creators and preserve the legacy of Batik through Batiklectic.
How it started...
While I was living in Kuala Lumpur, I was fascinated with unique art that was popular in South East Asia, batik. Mr. Lazim and Mrs. Masrina Abdullah were the two celebrated mentors who taught me how to make batik using different techniques. I fell in love with the beauty of Malaysian Batik and decided to share that beauty with the world by hand making one of a kind batik clothing.
